Renegades (Spoiler Free) Review

Renegades (Renegades, #1)Title: Renegades
Author: Marissa Meyer
Series: Renegades #1
My rating: 5/5 stars
Date Read: 4/21/18

I finally read Renegades and I freaking love every moment of it. I cannot believe this book took me so long to get too. I picked this book up because I was in a mood to read a book superhero related since Infinity War comes out soon and this book seemed like the perfect read and it was.

Marissa Meyer is one of my all time favorite authors so I did have a feeling I was going to love this book before I read it but I did not expect to love it this much. Meyer is known for her retellings and this book is not a retelling.

Renegades takes place in a world where there are prodigies with powers. In a way, it is sort of like the X-Men but not really. The good guys are the Renegades. They helped defeat the villains and helped rebuild society. In this book we follow two characters, Nova and Adrian. Nova is an Anarchist. She does not like the Renegades and Adrian is a Renegade.

From page one, I wanted to know what happens next. This is a huge book and I manage to fly through it. A lot of people say that this book was to long. I mean it is long, but I did not think it was to long. I really liked every moment of it.

I really enjoy the superhero and villain concept of this book and found it unique to the YA world. If you are a fan of Marvel or DC, you will probably like this book. I am not a fan of DC as the only DC movie I liked was Wonder Women, but I am a huge fan of the Marvel Universe.

Also Adrian has made it to my fictional crushes list. I mean it is hard to get on that list so congratulations!

Overall it is hard to get all my thoughts down without spoilers, and I am doing my best. I am currently writing this review and hour after I finished the book and I am still processing my thoughts. You know, is hard writing reviews for books you love so much! I will definitely be reading the sequel.

  1. I'm really excited to read this book eventually! I've heard a lot of reviews since MM is an amazing author from The Lunar Chronicles series. Hopefully the book lives up to the hype!

  2. I LOVE Marissa Meyer's books. But I still need to read Heartless and Renegades! Glad you enjoyed it though, I definitely need to read it this year.
